About Maxwell Berlyant
I provide evidence-based treatment from a strengths-based perspective and have specialty training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Habit Reversal Therapy (HRT) for Tics / Tourette’s / Trichotillomania. I provide CBT/Exposure Therapy for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Anxiety Disorders including Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias, Generalized Anxiety, as well as seeing clients for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessment and treatment, Executive Functioning skills coaching, Depression, behavioral problems, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), stress management, and provide parent coaching support. On a personal note, I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA and provided clinical services throughout the Bay Area and in the East Coast. I value time with my family and enjoy swimming, hiking, and ballroom dancing with my wife. I am interested in the mind-body connection and therapeutic role of movement and dance. I am bilingual - English and Russian.

Qualifications
I obtained my Doctorate/Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child and Family Psychology, from APA-accredited Palo Alto University, Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. My Postdoctoral Residency was completed at the Psychiatry Department in Kaiser Permanente, San Rafael and hold a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings with children, adolescents and adults providing individual, family, group, parent coaching, and couples therapy.
